Introduction
Chattertons Solicitors are primarily a Lincolnshire based firm of Solicitors where we have been established for over 200 years.
From our original office in Horncastle the firm commenced the first stage of its current expansion by opening an office in Boston before merging with the old established Boston firm of Millington Simpson and Giles. A further merger brought us an office in Sleaford in 1997.
With Lincolnshire being such a large county, we could see the potential to grow the business even further. The second stage of our expansion has therefore involved the acquisition of additional offices to help satisfy the increasing requirements of our existing clients and to build on our relationships with new clients by offering our experience and extensive range of legal services at an office more conveniently situated to our clients.
As a result the firm has steadily expanded across the county, initially by adding offices in Donington, Grantham, and Lincoln and then in 2003, the firm stepped over the border into Nottinghamshire and acquired an office in Newark. Due to the need for further space, in November 2006, the Newark office relocated to a purpose built business village in Newark and the Lincoln office moved to Doddington Road on the outskirts of the city.
In October 2006, Chattertons merged with the established firm of Crusts in Spalding. The Donington office was then amalgamated with the new Spalding office resulting in a substantially enhanced presence in Spalding. This was shortly followed by the merger with the Lincoln firm of Miller Mockford Winckworth, whose partners and staff joined the existing Chattertons team on 1 January 2007.
Chattertons has continued to expand and in April 2007 with the acquisition of an office in Stamford, the firm merged with the well know practice of Kelhams.
Chattertons now employ over 190 staff, including 24 partners and is one of the largest firms of Solicitors in the East Midlands.
