Investment Advice

Before we make any recommendations, we will ask for certain information including the following:

  • Details of your current financial circumstances

  • Your attitude to risk

  • How long you are willing to invest for

  • Whether you are looking for income or capital growth

  • Your tax status, ie whether you are a non, lower, basic or higher rate tax payer

  • Your financial aims and priorities

  • The more information we have about your financial circumstances, the more tailored the advice we can give you. We want you to be happy with the recommendations we make.

    Asset Allocation

A large factor when investing is something called asset allocation. This is the name given to the balance of investments in a portfolio. The reason that this is so important is because this has been shown to be the most important factor in determining the performance of an investment portfolio.

There are four main types of asset class which are as follows:

  • Cash
  • Bank and Building Society deposit accounts
  • Fixed Interest Securities
  • Gilts and Corporate Bonds
  • Property
  • Commercial and investment property
  • Equities
  • Shares

When investing for the long term (5 years or more), the success of a portfolio depends on the right mix of asset types. We can help you to create a portfolio based on your particular financial circumstances and attitude to risk.
