Trusts have been an important tool in tax and estate planning for many hundreds of years.

A trust established during a person’s lifetime or by his or her Will can have many benefits in addition to tax planning. Depending on the type of trust that is used, these benefits range from flexibility (some trusts allow the trustees to chose who should receive funds from the trust) to the protection of incapacitated or vulnerable individuals.

Our specialist trusts team can provide a full range of services relating to trusts. As well as advising on the creation of trusts, we can deal with the restructuring of existing trusts and advise trustees and beneficiaries.

We also deal with the ongoing administration of many trusts ourselves, acting as the central point of contact between trustees and other professionals such as accountants and investment managers. Our Financial Services Department can also provide financial advice to trustees.
