Agricultural

We have in-depth experience and an excellent track record in relation to agricultural matters. Many of our clients, both businesses and individuals, are either farmers or involved in the agricultural industry generally and we go to great lengths to understand the requirements and needs that are unique to this industry.

If you have any Agricultural Law queries or would like any advice, please click

Agricultural Legal Experts

Two of our partners, being Stuart Cox at our Horncastle office or Rodney Blezard at our Grantham office, are acknowledged experts in this field and are listed as such in the respected Legal 500 publication.

Range of Services

We can advise on:

  • Buying and selling agricultural land

  • Agricultural holdings

  • Farm Business Tenancies

  • Quotas and subsidies

  • Marketing Arrangements

  • Tax Concessions

  • As well as acquisition and disposal of agricultural land and estates, we are experienced in dealing with a range of Landlord and Tenant matters in relation to protected tenancies under the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986. We can also deal with Farm Business Tenancies under the Agricultural Act 1991.

In the broader spectrum of agriculture, we have experience in acting for various agricultural co-operatives in the region and have acted in de-mutualisation or privatisation on a number of these. We are active in advising agricultural produce merchant organisations and in the vegetable processing and freezing areas.

We are experienced in advising farmers and land owners as well as potential land owners and others in relation to the special inheritance tax regime that applies to farmers and to agricultural land investors.
