Insolvency and Bankruptcy Advice

In many instances following a meeting with us, the situation has been found not to be as bad as it appeared and problems are frequently resolved without the necessity of a formal bankruptcy or liquidation.

If there is no alternative, however, to a Bankruptcy Order being made against you, or your business being put into Liquidation, we can advise you how to do this and help you through the relevant procedures.

If a Bankruptcy Order has already been made against you, your business has been put into Liquidation or is the subject of a Voluntary Arrangement, we can advise you of your rights and obligations.

We are also able to call upon, where appropriate, the services of one of our other Partners, who has particular experience in acting for directors who are subject to applications for disqualification under the Company Directors Disqualification Act.

Insolvency Experts

Our Insolvency Team is headed by our Senior Partner, Peter Cropley, who is a Solicitor and Licenced Insolvency Practitioner. Peter, who has over 40 years of insolvency experience, was one of the first Solicitors in the country to obtain this qualification after its introduction by the Insolvency Act 1986. Peter is also one of the even smaller number of Solicitor Insolvency Practitioners who takes appointments as Trustee in Bankruptcy and Liquidator.

In addition to Peter Cropley, our insolvency team includes Liz Hopkins, whose insolvency experience goes back 10 years or more.
