Gangmasters Licensing

Businesses within the fresh produce supply chain are regulated by the Gangmasters Licensing Authority if they supply labour (or use labour) in the process and packaging of fresh food, drinks or other produce, connected with agriculture, horticulture or the gathering of shellfish.

Agriculture

If a business supplies workers for the purposes of agricultural activities then the supplier of the labour is required to hold a Gangmasters Licensing Authority Licence.

Processing & Packaging

If a business supplied workers for the purposes of processing and packaging any produce derived from agricultural work then the supplier of the labour is also required to hold a Gangmasters Licensing Authority License.

Shellfish Gathering

Lincolnshire is not only steeped in a heritage of supplying the nation with food from its agricultural sector, but it also has a long coast line. All businesses supplying workers to gather shellfish also require a Gangmasters Licensing Authority Licence.
