Paralegal/Litigation Executive -Defendant Motor Law and Personal Injury - Lincoln
We are looking to recruit a Paralegal/Litigation Executive, with experience in criminal law/road traffic law and personal injury claims to work alongside a partner at our Lincoln office. The ideal candidate will be a Law Graduate, who will also work as part of the wider Personal and Business Dispute Resolution team so excellent team working skills are essential.
This is a great opportunity to work alongside a highly regarded and experienced partner who specialises in private defendant road traffic law and serious injury claims. The intention is that the role will ultimately progress from an assistant role, to that of an independent fee earner with your own caseload. For the right candidate, there are excellent opportunities to progress both within the team and within the company generally.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for Litigation and a good level of knowledge and/or experience in this area. They will be looking to qualify as a solicitor via the SQE route within the next two years. They should be a self motivated, proactive person who can work at creating their own client following. Research, drafting and negotiating skills will be required, although support and supervision will be provided. They will have the desire to become an advocate in the future.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drafting articles for marketing purposes and contributing to the company’s social media accounts to raise the profile of the company and the Employment team.
- To provide an ongoing assistance and service to existing clients;
- To produce fee income in line with targets and agreed objectives;
- To keep informed of all changes in the law and practice in own area of work;
- Maintain and enhance up to date legal skills;
- Financial control with particular regard to cash flow control through collection of monies on account and billing procedures;
- Perform work accurately, reliably and in accordance with the firm’s quality and risk procedures.
- Drafting schedules and taking witness statements.
Law Graduate or relevant work experience.
Experience in criminal practice and civil/PI litigation.
Good working knowledge of and high level of interest in Personal Injury and Motor Law.
Good computer literacy.
Knowledge of case management systems
Solicitors Account Rules
Clear understanding of Money Laundering Regulations
CPR Rules and CrimPR rules
Ability to work with confidence
Strong planning and organisational skills
Knowledge of how to research complex legal matters
Excellent written and numeracy skills
Excellent communication skills
Excellent keyboard skills
Marketing and business development experience.
Ability to use online legal databases to conduct research.
Desire to provide a high quality service

The ability to travel between Chattertons offices and attend court therefore full driving licence and access to car
