Azam M Zia
After completing his law degree in Wales in 2000, Azam worked in business strategy – ultimately moving to Boston, USA, to join Harvard Law School as a director for a negotiation programme.
Azam came back to the UK to train as a lawyer, qualifying in May 2015 and receiving his training with a top tier firm in Nottingham.
Azam’s speciality lies in Corporate and Commercial law. Though much of his work is with banks, oil companies and property developers, a large part of his practice is supporting and advising owner-managed businesses.
His work covers the full life cycle of a business to include setting the company up, shareholder/partnership agreements and restructures, all the way through to the exit strategy, be that management buy-out, sale, merger or acquisition. He also deals with business contracts, terms and conditions and supplier agreements.
Azam is an award winning lawyer and has most recently been awarded Merger and Acquisition Lawyer of the Year 2018 – East Midlands.
Azam is a council member at the Nottinghamshire Law Society and is Chair of the Property committee. He is recognised for his work in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire and is regularly asked to provide seminars and workshops dealing with specialist topics and changes in the legal landscape that affect his clients.
