Qualifications: Law LLB (Hons)
Louis is a Trainee Solicitor working in various departments of our practice alongside his existing role in our Immigration Team where he provides clear and creative advice on matters of personal and business Immigration and Nationality Law.
Originally from East Anglia, Louis moved to Lincolnshire to study Law at the University of Lincoln. After graduating with a 2:1, he quickly crossed the gap from academia to practice and started working as a Paralegal in Chattertons’ Dispute Resolution and Employment Teams in August 2014. Louis picked up a particular interest in advising on matters of Consumer Law, particularly in claims against utility services and mobile phone service providers. As his work progressed, he has gained experience of dealing with commercial debts and disputes, with a focus on resolving matters through negotiated settlements and mediation.
More recently, Louis became a part of our Immigration Team and has been providing advice and guidance on the following matters:
- Family settlement visas
- EU permanent residence and derivative rights
- Workers under the Points-Based System (Tier 2)
- Creative and sporting visas (Tier 5)
- Student visas (Tier 4)
- Nationality and Citizenship
- Sponsors Licenses (Tier 2 & Tier 5)
- Right to work checks
Louis is now one of our Trainee Solicitors, having been offered a Training Contract in March 2016. As part of his further training, Louis will be undertaking a variety of placements in different departments of our firm to complement his existing practise. He is due to qualify as a Solicitor in around September 2017 where he hopes to be able to provide a more advanced Corporate and Commercial service to business clients which includes advising on matters of Immigration, Employment and Company Law.
