Sophie joined the Chattertons Commercial Property team in Stamford in January 2019. Prior to joining the firm Sophie worked as a Solicitor in both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire dealing with Residential and Commercial Property work. She has experience involving many types of land, ranging from city-centre based shops and cafés, to farmland and development land. However, Sophie originally hails from Lincolnshire and is keen to settle her career in the area.
Sophie sees her particular specialism in negotiating technical clauses in leases for both Landlords and Tenants, ensuring her client is protected as far as possible in their business venture. She also enjoys working on matters involving defects in title, and considers spotting potential access problems essential to preventing her clients having expensive litigation in the future.
Sophie is outgoing and keen to take on new challenges. She aims to be approachable and friendly, and thoroughly enjoys meeting new people in all walks of life; a part of the Commercial Property sector she considers a perk, as she often has opportunity to get involved with many different start-up businesses and share in their enthusiasm.
In her spare time Sophie enjoys long walks in the countryside with her dogs, or doing outdoor activities for charity such as ‘Tough Mudder’ challenges or mountain expeditions.
