Geneva to Munich Bike ride in aid of Dementia UK - 9th - 15th September

  • Posted

Mark Winterton, IFA based at Chattertons Stamford office recently completed a cycling challenge in aid of Chattertons Charity of the year, Dementia UK.

The bike ride took him all the way from Geneva across the alps to Munich - 30,000 feet of climbing and about 500 miles!

Mark said, “I chose Dementia UK as my charity, because my father was diagnosed with vascular dementia over 12 months ago and the effect it is having on his body and mind isn't pleasant to see. I'm sure many of you reading this will have a family member or know of someone who is going through a similar thing.”

Following the challenge, Mark said, “The ride was brutal - from 30 degrees C to thunderstorms and climbs of 7.5 miles with an average gradient of 8% was tough, however it was a great achievement and seeing my father as he is, every bit of money I raise will help people with Dementia.”
