Chattertons Charity of the Year extended for 2021!

  • Posted

Each year we raise funds for a local charity nominated by our staff. In the past we have supported various charities, including; St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice, The RSPCA and most recently our 2020 Charity of the year the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

The LNAA is one of the UK’s leading Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) Charities, funded purely by the generosity of people like you! They provide the equivalent of an A&E department directly to the scene of some of the most serious and time critical 999 calls in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

The charity committee had many events planned for 2020  – quizzes, bowling, Christmas market tombola stall and a sponsored walk / cycle at Rutland Water on Saturday 12th September to tie in with National Air Ambulance Week – the list goes on!

And then the week before the first quiz of the year was supposed to happen at Boston, Covid-19 struck and we all know what that has meant for social events ever since.

But neither the Charity Committee nor the very committed staff of Chattertons, plus family, friends and contacts were downhearted or about to let this stop fund raising completely for such a worthwhile cause as the LNAA.

Katherine Bunting, Partner and Head of the Charity Committee at Chattertons, said, “We have had not one but two photo competitions, sweepstakes, Christmas Jumper Day, tuck shops, donations, a very successful socially distanced weekend of sponsored walks and rides and many other fund raisers, some large and some small.

“The LNAA is hugely grateful for the money we have raised in 2020 – over £5,700 at the last count. A huge thanks to everyone involved in this fantastic achievement.

“We have already decided as a Committee to continue fundraising for the LNAA in 2021 and very much hope that maybe by the second half of the year we can continue with some of the external events we love to organise”.

Tanya Taylor, LNAA said, “That’s an amazing amount to raise, especially during these unprecedented and challenging times.  On behalf of everyone at the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, a huge thank you to you all! Lets’ hope 2021 is a better year for us! Thank you so much once again and for continuing your support next year”.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us in our fundraising last year. Stay up to date with our progress and see how you too can take part this year by following us on Facebook, Linkedin or Twitter.
