Area of Expertise: Advises partnerships, LLP's, Plc's, Limited companies, sole traders and private individuals on a variety of complex disputes, including, where it is required, through litigation in court.  

Helen has specific experience in the following:-

  • contractual disputes (including consumer rights claims and breaches of contract),
  • professional negligence claims,
  • debt recovery,
  • property related disputes (including boundary disputes, claims for orders for sale, enforcement of easements/rights and landlord and tenant issues), and
  • contentious probate/trust related issues.
  • Settlement Agreements, including in employment related matters.

Helen qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and has worked in several firms across Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire in that time. Helen joined Chattertons in Stamford in May 2025, and brings with her a wealth of experience in contentious related matters having represented clients in mediations, and in proceedings in the First Tier Property Tribunal, and the County and High Courts.

Helen advocates a pragmatic approach to resolving disputes having seen the changes advocated by the courts towards mediation and negotiation. She supports the recommendation that protracted litigation should be avoided (where possible) and has actively been engaged in a series of successful mediations in recent years. She aims to resolve any issue in the best possible term for her client, and where possible, to finding an amicable resolution to matters, whilst avoiding the stress and delay caused by protracted and expensive litigation.

Helen also has a specific interest in contentious probate matters, having previously completed the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate (ACTAPS) qualification.
