Keep calm and carry on

The Brexit furore still doesn’t look like abating any time soon.  However, HM Revenue & Customs have taken steps to alleviate any fears their “customers” may have that tax changes will be following close on the heels of the referendum result.

In a recorded message on their helpline the HMRC says "there are no changes to any taxes, tax credits, child benefits or other HMRC services as a result of the vote on the EU referendum”

No doubt in an effort to discourage unnecessary calls blocking their switchboard, the message continues with the comments: “Everything is continuing as normal. No laws have changed. There is no need to contact HMRC as a result of the EU referendum."
