Chattertons Charity of the Year 2026: Supporting the UK Sepsis Trust

  • Posted

We are proud to announce that Chattertons have chosen to support The UK Sepsis Trust as our Charity of the Year for 2026. Throughout the year, we will be raising vital funds and awareness to support the Trust’s lifesaving work.

Each year, Chattertons Solicitors & Wealth Management, with eight offices across Lincolnshire and in Newark, supports a charity that is nominated and voted for by our staff. Over the years, we have been privileged to work with a number of charities, including the Stroke Association, Dementia UK, Cash for Kids Lincolnshire, and our 2025 Charity of the Year, Anthony Nolan.

The UK Sepsis Trust is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to saving lives and improving outcomes for people affected by sepsis. Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that arises when the body’s response to infection causes injury to its own tissues and organs. Early diagnosis and treatment are critical, and the Trust works tirelessly to educate the public and professionals, support those affected, and drive improvements in sepsis care across the UK.

Supporting the UK Sepsis Trust is particularly meaningful to Louise Thompson, based at Chattertons’ Lincoln office. Her father was hospitalised with sepsis in 2022 and survived thanks to timely treatment, but her family was later devastated when her maternal aunt was also hospitalised with sepsis and tragically died the following day at just 59 years old. These experiences underline the devastating impact sepsis can have and the vital importance of awareness, early diagnosis and treatment.

By partnering with the UK Sepsis Trust, Chattertons hopes to play a role in increasing understanding of sepsis and helping to ensure more lives are saved through earlier diagnosis and improved care.

Katherine Bunting, Partner and Head of Chattertons Charity Committee, said: “We are delighted to support the UK Sepsis Trust as our Charity of the Year for 2026. Sepsis can affect anyone, at any age, and raising awareness is just as important as fundraising. Our colleagues are passionate about making a difference, and we are looking forward to working together throughout the year to support the Trust’s vital work.”

Iain Blackwood-Hobbs, UKST Corporate Partnerships Co-ordinator, said: "We're hugely grateful to Chattertons for choosing us as their 2026 Charity of the Year, and we're excited to see what the next year will bring. From spreading the word to raising much-needed funds, their determination and enthusiasm will make an enormous difference as we work to improve sepsis outcomes and support those who have been affected by this life-changing condition. A huge thanks also goes to Louise for so bravely sharing her personal story."
