Heathrow Property Compensation Scheme

  • Posted

Heathrow

As Government Ministers give the green light to build a third runway at Heathrow and adopt the plan as recommended by the Airports Commission in 2015, Chattertons Solicitors takes a closer look at the compulsory purchase order scheme proposed by the airport.

In 2014 Heathrow announced their new property compensation proposal of paying 25% above market value compensation for homes that would fall within the compulsory purchase order region. The offer also includes the payment of stamp duty costs and legal fees.

Approximately 3,750 homes are eligible for compensation under the scheme. Simon Oates, Business Development Director at Chattertons said "It is essential that owners of property obtain legal advice as soon as they receive notification that their home is to be compulsory purchased under the Heathrow property compensation scheme. Chattertons will work on behalf of homeowners to ensure that the offer is correct and the costs of doing so will be recovered from the developer".

Anyone receiving notice of compulsory purchase under the scheme should contact Chattertons on 0207 8715 755 or by completing our online enquiry form quoting 'Heathrow Property Compensation Scheme'.
