Staff profile - Stuart Newell joins the Corporate Commercial team

Stuart Newell has recently joined our corporate commercial department. Having served a wide range of commercial clients, including banks, building societies, property developers and house-builders, Stuart will be able to use his experience and knowledge whilst working alongside the team at Grantham.
Stuart has dealt with a wide range of corporate and commercial work, including land development transactions and joint ventures, partnership deeds within the health sector, software and other intellectual property licenses and many other types of commercial contracts. Stuart also assists businesses from small start ups to large organisations.
Stuart says ‘I am looking forward to joining Chattertons and bringing my wide range of experience to bear for the benefit of all their business clients, from start-ups and SMEs, to large corporates. Chattertons is a firm with a long history and deep roots in the communities it serves, but is also forward-looking and open to new ideas. Everyone I have met here has been welcoming and friendly and I am sure it will be a great place to work. ’
After studying at the College of Law in Guildford, Stuart went on to qualify as a Solicitor in 1991. In his spare time Stuart has a keen interest in history, especially medieval and military, and aviation and was formerly a member and Treasurer of a 15th Century re-enactment society. He is also a keen supporter of Rugby Union (England and Bath), runs to keep fit and occasionally plays badminton. He shot in several archery competitions at school and university and played hockey for the Law Faculty.
