LawNet Challenge 2022 - Langdale Pikes

  • Posted

Last weekend (20-22 May 2022), Sian Blackman and Louise Edmonds, who are both based at Chattertons Lincoln office, took part in LawNet’s Langdale Pikes Challenge.

Each year LawNet, the UK and Ireland's leading network of independent law firms arrange a challenge event for members, with previous events including the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, Helvellyn and Snowdon. After an enforced break due to the pandemic, this year’s challenge was a 15 mile walk through Langdale Pikes in the Lake District, walking through some of the most well-known peaks, such as Pavery Ark, Harrison Stickle, Pike of Stickle and Thunacar Knott.

Sian and Louise walked a total of 17.7 miles and climbed more than 800m, in a very impressive time of 10 hours. In addition, they managed to raise over £225 for Chattertons Charity of the Year – The Stroke Association.

Louise said, “Overall it was very tough going, a lot harder than described. The weather was grim at times. Would I do it again, no! But I am proud of Sian and I for completing it and the achievement and raising money for our Charity of the Year.”

Sian said, “The walk…correction, hike! was very challenging but enjoyable. We managed to see some lovely scenery, a wild deer and lots of sheep in between the rain and falling over!

We received a medal after for all our hard work and we also had a furry friend guiding us on the route, which kept us going. Thank you to everyone who sponsored us, I can confidently say that Lou and I earned every penny raised!”
