Education and Academies
Chattertons has a wealth of expertise in working with schools, academies, colleges and universities with lawyers acting in a legal capacity as well as providing support as Governors.
Whilst the status of becoming an academy was initially reserved for schools in urgent need of improvement, it has become the model template for schools looking to sever their ties from local government and take control of the management of finances, pupil numbers and the strategic direction of the school.
Many secondary schools have converted to academy status, however a large of number of primary schools remain in local government control and now need to begin the process of converting to academy status.
Our academy conversion process is provided on a fixed fee basis enabling headteachers, business managers and governors to budget for the conversion without incurring any unforeseen charges and our dedicated team of experts will guide you through every aspect of the conversion process.
Once converted to an academy, the Chattertons Education Law team work hand in hand with headteachers, business managers and governors providing Legal Counsel services.
